✶ You can shower with your dressing on. Avoid wearing tight clothing that may rub against the bandage. A small amount of plasma/ink/blood may be present under the bandage, do not remove or poke holes in the bandage.
✶ Leave your transparent dressing on for 2-4 days before gently removing it in the shower under warm running water. Wash your tattoo as per the instructions below.
✶ Wash your tattoo once to twice per day in the shower with warm water and Gold Dial Antibacterial Fragrance Free Soap. After washing, gently pat your tattoo dry with a clean paper towel. Apply a very thin coat of Aquaphor 3-4 times per day. When your tattoo starts to flake, you may discontinue Aquaphor and use a fragrance free lotion 3-5 times per day, if you’d like.
✶ During the first 3 weeks following tattoo application you may not submerge your tattoo in water (no swimming in lakes, rivers, pools, ponds, the ocean; no hot tubs, baths, steam rooms, saunas, ice baths, etc.); you also may not expose your tattoo to sunshine or apply any sunscreen products to your tattoo for the first 3 weeks following application.
Remove your dressing (saran wrap or absorbent dressing) after 2-4 hours. Gently wash your tattoo with Gold Dial Antibacterial Fragrance Free Soap. Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Apply a very thin coat of Aquaphor 3-4 times per day. Wash your tattoo 1-2 times per day.
✶ Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo.
✶ Do not scratch or pick at your tattoo or touch it excessively. Do not permit other people to touch your tattoo. When your tattoo feels itchy, wash your hands and gently apply a thin coat of Aquaphor.
✶ Avoid wearing clothing that is tight against your fresh tattoo, especially while sleeping. Avoid getting pet hair, sand, dirt, or other debris in your fresh tattoo.
✶ Wash your tattoo at the end of your shower to clean out any bathing products (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc.). Do not shave the tattooed area for 3-4 weeks.
